Requests for Data Access

The sharing of ANY student data, including grades, assessment scores, and even photos and names, should be handled with greatest of care as is dictated by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). This would include (but is not limited to), access to PowerSchool, PowerTeacher Gradebook, Google Classroom, Google Meet, or any of our adopted digital curriculum platforms.

For this reason, access to ANY of our district student information systems can NOT be shared with any non-district employee who has not completed the appropriate Vendor Access Request documentation via the SUSD Human Resources department.

If you have a student teacher, grant partner, researcher…etc. whom you would like to provide access to any of the above student data, please contact either of the following SUSD HR specialists.

Once you have reached out, the above individuals will share the appropriate paperwork for the non-district employee to complete. Processing these requests may take between 2-3 weeks.

Teachers should also be aware that no personal or student information including student names, grades, email accounts…etc. should be shared with any third-party instructional application which has not been approved for use by the SUSD Curriculum Council.
